Non Halogen Flame Retardant Materials Technical Interest Group

Non Halogen Flame Retardant Materials Technical Interest Group

About the Technical Interest Group

The technology, evaluation methods, and applications of non-halogen flame retardant technology will be the focus of this Technical Interest Group or “TIG”. Non-halogen flame retardant additives, and ancillary additives to improve non-halogen flame retardant technologies, such as processing aids for highly filled alumina trihydrate systems will be included. Also specific polymer technologies designed to impart inherent flame retardancy will also be included, such as polymers built on bishydroxydeoxybenzoin moieties, polyhydroxyl amides, or phosphonates will be included.

Topics specific to non-halogen flame retardancy technology development will also be a focus of this Technical Interest Group, such as the use of molecular modeling, mini-thermal analysis tests to determine char formation, etc. will be considered pertinent to this TIG.

Specific applications highlighting the focused implementation of a non-halogen technology will also be considered in scope, e.g. development of wire and cable formulations to address non-halogen concerns in the computer peripherals market will be included.
